Former New York Knicks forward Charles Oakley is not critical of the team’s current management. He also thinks the near future for the Knicks is not bright at all.

“It’s not just [owner James Dolan]. They don’t have talent anymore,” he said on “Knicks Fan TV” podcast, per Ryan Morik of SNY.

Oakley was also of the opinion that neither Jeff Van Gundy nor Patrick Ewing should take the head coach position because they would have troubles coaching the young Knicks.

As far as New York future is concerned, Oakley wasn’t optimistic at all. “It’s going to take years. It’s like driving from New York to Texas. It’s a long road,” he said.
