Fotsis set for third return to Panathinaikos

Antonis Fotsis and Panathinaikos have agreed terms for the third return of the Greek itnernational forward to the former Euroleague champions.

The player’s agent and father have already had a meeting in Athens to finalise his return to Greece in summer, for 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. The deal with Panathinaikos be worth around 2.200.000 Euro for the duration of the contract.

However Panathinaikos is trying to sign the player immediately and their president Dimitris Giannakopoulos had traveled to Milano yesterday to negotiate the player’s release. Both the player and Milano are keen to part ways as neither side is satisfied with the situation. However the Italian side want a buy-out from Panathinaikos while the Greek club is not prepared to pay one.

A move that could hint to the player’s move immediately is the fact that he didn’t participate in Milano’s training session yesterday, having a meeting with the club’s administration indeed.

The saga is expected to finish really soon, as Panathinaikos has only six days to finalise the deal if the player is to participate in the second round of Euroleague’s Top16 and the rumours from Greece suggest it will happen. But one thing is for sure, he will join Panathinaikos either now or in the summer.
