Michael Carter-Williams: Orlando’s bench star

Michael Carter-Williams

Michael Carter-Williams is making an NBA comeback this year for the Orlando Magic, becoming one of the superstars from the bench for the Eastern Conference team.

The former number 11 pick by Philadelphia in the 2013 NBA Draft has been a journeyman for the past 5 years, playing in Milwaukee, Chicago, Charlotte, Houston and now Orlando.

The 6″5 shooting guard has been balling for the past 4 games, helping Orlando win 3, including a destruction against the Houston Rockets. MCW has been averaging 15.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 22.8 minutes per game over the 4-game span.

His defensive presence off the bench as well this year has been superb. He’s managed to guard multiple positions and superstars, averaging only 1.1 steals per game but he’s a sleeper for the All-Defensive team if you have seen him at all this season.

Michael Carter-Williams is on an expiring contract with the Magic, but we should expect to see him in the blue pinstripes again next season due to his grit and grind for the city.

So far this season, in 42 games, MCW is averaging 7.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
