CSKA Moscow defeated Brose Baskets 90-83 in the Euroleague Top 16, as week two got under way.
The Germans made life difficult for CSKA though as they led for the majority of the first half thanks to they’re clinical three-point shooting.
The visitors connected with 11 of their 14 attempts to stay ahead 46-45 at the half before CSKA’s class took over in the third quarter as the fluent team play of the hosts wore Bamberg down completely.
Viktor Khryapa led CSKA, who were without Sonny Weems with 19 points as they move to 3-0 in Group E while Brose Baskets drop down to 0-3. Bostjan Nachbar, who was the main catalyst in his side’s first half three-point clinic, led all scorers with 35.

Elsewhere in the group, Panathinaikos edged Unicaja Malaga 78-73 to improve to 2-1 while the Spaniards dropped to 1-2.
James Gist, against his former club led the Greens with 17 points and admitted that their was extra motivation in this game for him.
“I had extra motivation due to some personal reasons to play good in this game, but at the end of the day the team’s effort is what it counts more,” Gist explained.
“I am glad we won and we look forward to playing better and getting the victories we need.”
The win was again, surrounded with worry as Dimitris Diamantidis was once again led off with an ankle sprain.
Earl Calloway led Malaga with 14.

Career highs for Ricky Hickman and Shaun James propelled Maccabi Electra to an impressive 90-73 win over Fenerbahce in Tel Aviv.
Hickman had 24 points and James supported with 22 as Maccabi took charge in the second half and never looked back. They now improve to 1-2 in Group F with this win.
Fenerbahce drop to 0-3 as Bo McCalebb, Romain Sato and Bojan Bogdanovic’s 15 points were not enough.

Caja Laboral’s excellent form continues with a 77-51 thrashing of Besiktas at the Fernando Buesa Arena.
The game was over as a contest in the first quarter as a 21-0 run gave the Spanish side a 25-2 advantage and the Turkish side was unable to reply.
Brad Olesen led the winners with 13 points as they sit atop of Group F with a 3-0 record while Beisktas drop to 0-3. They were led by 12 points from Daniel Ewing.
