Steve Kerr told reporters on March 8 that the Golden State Warriors would sign Mychal Mulder to a second 10-day contract.

“We are working towards bringing him back, and we’re confident that’s going to happen,” Kerr said. “We don’t practice tomorrow, but we anticipate having him Tuesday (against the Los Angeles Clippers at Chase Center). We’ll see what that means.”

Mulder, 25, has averaged 12.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in 29.5 minutes per game over six games with the Warriors.

He is also shooting 35.6 percent from three point, making 16 total three-pointers so far.

Among the 22 players who have been on the Warriors’ roster this season, Mulder is the only one with a positive plus-minus rating, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

“Mychal is fantastic,” Kerr said after the team’s win against the Philadelphia 76ers. “A really good player. Good defensively as well, and we’re lucky to have him.”

The Warriors play again tomorrow, so they could hold off on signing Mulder for a couple of days in order to get the maximum value out of his next 10-day deal.

Once his second 10-day contract expires, the Warriors could sign him to a veteran’s minimum contract for the rest of the season if they want to keep him.
