Caja Laboral’s Maciej Lampe has been named the Euroleague Player of the Month for December.
The Liga Endesa side’s route to the Top 16 has been made even more impressive with the fact that after week seven; they were 1-6 and heading out of the competition at the regular season phase.
Lampe knew that every game in December was a do-or-die clash, they were fighting for their Euroleague lives and they achieved qualification to the Top 16 thanks to the Polish international’s leadership and gritty play.
Then in their final Euroleague game of 2012, and the first Top 16 contest, they defeated the reigning Eurolague champions Olympiacos 82-74 with Lampe in outstanding form, posting 25 points to see-off the Reds.
