The Philadelphia 76ers hope superstar Ben Simmons will be ready to play when the playoffs will start in mid-April.

Simmons will be re-evaluated next week and the Sixers would like to see him return from his lower-back nerve impingement before the playoffs.

“Simmons will be reevaluated next week as the Sixers wait for the inflammation around the nerve to subside. The team hopes he can return before the playoffs, sources say, and with enough time to get back into shape,” Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reports.

Simmons has appeared in 54 games for the Sixers this season, averaging 16.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists. Philadelphia is fifth in the East with a 38-25 record.
