Spanoulis scoops Euroleague Player of the Month for November

Olympiacos guard Vassilis Spanoulis has been named the Euroleague Player of the Month for November.

Last season’s Final Four MVP has been inspirational in leading the reigning European champions from a 1-2 record to 6-2, winning five straight including a dominating performance away at Zalgiris. Spanoulis also received a standing ovation by appreciative EA7 Milano fans in the month just gone.

In a rebuilding year for the Reds, there were doubts surrounding this new-look side and if they could compete and defend their Euroleague crown. This month of November has answered those critics in emphatic fashion, led by the free-scoring number seven. The departure of Joey Dorsey has sparked new life into Olympiacos and in his absence, Spanoulis and co have been undefeated.

In November, Spanoulis has averaged 17.6 points, shooting 45 percent from three-point land (14-31) and now leads the Euroleague in assists with an average of 6.25 a game.

Olympiacos are through to the Top 16 with two games still to play in the regular season.
