Vlada Jovanovic, BC Donetsk part ways

Ukrainian side BC Donetsk parted ways with coach Vlada Jovanovic. The 39-year-old Serbian tactician failed to establish a mutual understanding with the leading players of the club, according to the club’s website.

It was the second time working as a head coach for Jovanovic. He was in charge of Partizan prior to moving to Ukraine.

Donetsk assembled a rather strong squad hoping to become the first Ukrainian side in Euroleague by qualifying through qualifying tournament.

Though Donetsk were eliminated already after the first after losing to eventual winners Elan Chalon.

Reigning Ukrainian champios are currently 7th in Ukrainian league with a 4-3 record. Donetsk also managed to win only one out of three VTB League games.

On the biggest highlights of Jovanovic’s career is five years spent in Partizan as an assistant of one of the top coaches in Europe, Dusko Vujosevic.
