Both Dion Waiters and J.R. Smith had workouts with the Lakers and subsequent conversations with the team’s staff. According to Shams Charania of Stadium, the big question to both players from Los Angeles officials was if they are willing to accept whatever role they are asked.
Reportedly, Waiters and Smith responded that they are indeed ready to assume the role the Lakers ask them to.
In addition, Waiters had to answer questions about what went wrong in Miami. He has reportedly explained and was determined to make things right if he was signed by the Lakers.
