Prezzie-Blue thinking positive despite Worcester delay

American guard Sherrad Prezzie-Blue is still looking forward to returning to British Basketball League side Worcester Wolves despite visa issues.

Prezzie-Blue was amongst the first of the imports to sign a BBL contract in the off-season but visa troubles beyond his control have haunted the Connecticut-born player from travelling to Worcester to join his new team-mates.

The Wolves are so eager to get this sorted that they have a local member of parliament helping the club out with the mass amounts of paperwork.

“I’m just being patient at the moment, you have to be really,” Prezzie-Blue said. “I’m looking forward to working with coach [Paul] James again and we have a good looking roster that are playing well at the moment so good things will come to those who wait and I know that when this is all sorted, I can fly out and look forward to helping the guys out any way I can.”

The 5’11 guard was a key figure in Worcester’s best ever BBL finish last season, as they finished in third place behind champions Newcastle Eagles and Leicester Riders. Prezzie-Blue averaged 17.1 points and four assists in that term. Unfortunately for the Wolves, they bowed out in the first round of the post-season playoffs to Cheshire Jets.

Worcester are currently sitting in fourth place in the league standings at the moment with a 3-3 record.

“I keep in touch with coach James most days and we talk about the season, this team plus I look at the live stats so I keep track of what’s going on,” Prezzie-Blue said.
