Euroleague qualifying round-up (26/09/12)

Unics Kazan have progressed to the semi-finals of the Euroleague qualifying round thanks to a 91-73 win over ratiopharm Ulm in Desio, Italy.

The favourites to advance to the regular season, via these qualifying stages never looked in trouble against the German side who will now play in the Eurocup this season. Unics led 24-14 after the first quarter and the lead ballooned to 72-52 after three quarters to make the game safe.

Terrell Lyday shone for the Russians, as he hit 21 points, including five three-pointers from eight attempts. Ian Vougioukas, who joined from Panathinaikos had 18 points.

Americans Allen Ray and John Bryant both had 17 points each to lead ratiopharm Ulm.

Le Mans edge BC Donetsk

Le Mans shrugged off a poor first quarter to beat Ukrainans BC Donetsk 61-55 in the second game.

The French improved in the second period to lead at the half-time 35-31 and after a scrappy second half, Le Mans reduced Donetsk to just eight points in the fourth to seal the win.

Cameron Long led Le Mans with 17 points, supported with 12 each from Khalid El-Amin and Alain Koffi. Doron Perkins led Donetsk with 15.
