Home NBA Brooklyn Nets still searching for training facility

Brooklyn Nets still searching for training facility

The Brooklyn Nets are still looking for a training facility to meet the needs of the players as mentioned by American media.

The search for a training facility has been going on for over a year, and there were three potential opportunities that the franchise were exploring last season.

Brooklyn though have decided not to go further with those opportunities due to some of the key players still residing in New Jersey. The rumour is that the players in question wanted to be closer to home.

The Nets still have a lease on a facility in East Rutherford, the home of the old New Jersey Nets that runs through until June 2015, so they might be looking into that but a spokesman for the Nets isn’t giving anything away.

“Yes, we are looking at a practice facility location, but we will not comment on any specific site,” he said.

The Nets training centre in East Rutherford has two NBA-size courts, a custom-bulit clubhouse locker room complete with a lounge and a kitchen. There’s also a hydrotherapy pool and a whirlpool. Also at the practice facility is a strength and conditioning centre, a video theater room and a locker room. It covers 32,000 square feet of office space and 2,000 square feet of warehouse space.
