Lakers and Cousins is not over

DeMarcus Cousins‘ adventure with the Los Angeles Lakers may not have come to an end definitively. As reported by Joe Vardon of The Athletic, both sides are interested in finding a new deal during the next offseason, when Cousins will be free agent.

Out due to injury

The former Golden State Warriors player has been cut from the Lakers roster in the past few hours to make way for Markieff Morris. The choice to release Cousins is dictated by the fact that the center is struggling with recovery from the injury. Despite statements by coach Frank Vogel, who hoped for his return to the pitch during the playoffs, Cousins could hardly have taken part in the Lakers postseason challenges. The four-time All-Star is therefore no longer part of the yellow-purple project, however he will be able to continue rehabilitation from the injury with his now ex-team.

Season without ever playing

Cousins has never played this season after signing an annual contract with the Californian franchise in the summer. Cousins also had to deal with several physical problems during the past season with the Golden State Warriors.
