Nigeria national team bolstered its roster for coming 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Marc J. Spears of ESPN reported that the New Orleans Pelicans center Jahlil Okafor committed to play for the national team of former African champions.

The grandfather of the 24-year-old center, Chicko Okafor, is from Nigeria. Another familiar face will be coaching the team. As was announced earlier, current Golden State Warriors assistant coach, Mike Brown will be in charge of the national team.

This season the third overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft is averaging 7.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
