The agreement with Andy Panko didn’t put an end to Panathinaikos’s board efforts to strengthen the team even more.

While Panko was putting his signature on the contract, the Greens were also trying to come to an agreement with Lithuanian giant Darjus Lavrinovic (2.12), who parted ways with CSKA. Panathinaikos’s offer might not be the best one he has received, but it sure is a new one.

Darjius will have to choose among Panathinaikos, Zalgiris and a Turkish team (presumably Galatasaray). The Greeks are working hard to replace quality pieces after recent departures, while Vouyoukas and Perperoglou will likely leave the team too, according to their agent.

However, Lavrinovic is not the only Lithuanian in Pedoulakis’ shortlist, as he is also checking out Jonas Maciulis case too.

From the local market, a player that seems to be close wearing the green jersey, again, is Vasilis Xanthopoulos, a Greek point guard who is coming from his best A1 season, as a Panionios player, and will cover Nick Calathes absence. Dimitris Mavroeidis of Bilbao is also close to agreeing with Panathinaikos.

Finally, there are rumours about Diawara who played for Varese last year. Diawara would be a great addition to Panathinaikos, when he will have to replace the disappointing Sato.
