The #1 pick of 2012 Draft, Anthony Davis, is set to miss the would-be first Olympic tournament of his career, after being sidelined for two weeks due to an ankle sprain.

Davis sprained his left ankle just days before traveling to Las Vegas for a workout with Team USA, in which he would fight for the 12th spot in the squad which will travel to London, alongside Blake Griffin and Lamar Odom.

Davis’ injury adds to a long string of injuries the American side has sustained over the past season. Davis was actually called to the team after their frontline got thinner and thinner due to players like Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh and LaMarcus Aldridge would be missing the tournament also due to injury.

Just days ago Dwayne Wade also confirmed he would abstain from the London Games to take care of his injury, while other guards like Chauncey Billups and Derrick Rose have been long ruled out.
