Chris Paul says the Houston Rockets should offer PJ Tucker a contract extension before he hits free agency in 2021.

The Rockets guaranteed the final year of Tucker’s contract (around $8M for the 2020/21 season), yet Paul believes Tucker should receive a contract extension offer soon.

“I think the person that I probably learned the most from was PJ, PJ Tucker, who was like my brother, man. He’s so selfless, gives himself up night in and night out. P.J. is like the unsung hero of the NBA, you know what I mean? He’s not going to be on the stat sheet with all this different type stuff.

Shoutout to P.J., though he just got — I think they guaranteed his last year. He needs an extension. That’s all the man want. The man plays every night and can’t get an extension,” the guard of the Oklahoma City Thunder said, via Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Tucker has appeared in 54 games for the Rockets this season, averaging 7.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
