Partizan continues domination in Serbia

Partizan Belgrad wins 11th consecutive title after defeating Crvena Zvezda 3-1 in Serbian national finals, last week.

The game 1 of the finals ended with a 92-83 on the scoreboard favoring Partizan, with 4 players scoring +15 points (Dragan Milosavljevic MVP with 22 ranking). It was a high scoring game, with an amazing display on offense by the home team.

Game 2 was a fluke for Zvezda. At their home, they controlled the entire match, playing aggressive defense making Partizan shot poorly from the 3 point line (3-25). Forward Omar Thomas led the way for the “reds”, with 18 points. Zvezda won 68-56.

The series went back to Partizan arena for game 3. With three good quarters that created a 14 point lead, Partizan reclaimed the advantage in the finals with a 78-72 win. In this game after trailing by 14 points, Zvezda made a late run in the last quarter that wasn’t enough. 6’8 forward Vladimir Lucic was the MVP of the match.

The game 4 was a mirror of most of the series. Partizan controlled the entire game even without a big lead, but Zvezda kept pressuring the national champions all game long. Macvan (on loan by Maccabi Tel Aviv) was the man of the match.

With this title Partizan Belgrad continues their amazing road of victories, lifting national titles and trying to keep a budget to compete in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague next season.
