After the Sacramento Kings Buddy Hield (age 27) was moved to the bench, the trade speculations started. Per The Athletic, the Kings shooting guard is unhappy with his role in the team and might request an offseason trade, despite the four-year extension worth up to $106 million he signed in October.

As the NBC Sports specifies, “after starting 126 straight games for the Kings, Hield was moved to the bench before the team’s Jan. 24 games against the Chicago Bulls.”

Regardless of his improved statistical numbers, he sees himself in a starting lineup and the current situation is not suitable.

“If Hield remains displeased with his role, a source with knowledge of his thinking said he might request a trade,” writes Shams Charania. “He believes he is a starter in the NBA and there’s no guarantee he’ll get that job back, given how the team has played lately.”
