Real take game two, series even, ACB round-up

Four three-pointers from Sergio Rodriguez ensured a vital game two road win for Real Madrid as they topped Barcelona 75-69 in Catalunya.

With the series tied at one game each, the third encounter now goes to Madrid.

Clutch threes from Rodriguez, who led the visitors with 14 points and Jaycee Carroll gave Madrid a 70-66 lead with 2:09 remaining, and they would never trail again.

After a close first half of play, which ended 40-40 at the half, Barcelona held their rivals to just nine points in the third, thanks to the all-round display of Erazem Lorbek, who led all scorers with 22 points, the hosts led 56-49 going into the final quarter of play.

It was from there though that Real Madrid took control and their clutch shooting was enough to steal game two as they won the fourth period 26-13.

Madrid’s Ante Tomic hit 12 points while Nikola Mirotic, on his return to the starting line-up hit 10.

Game three in the Spanish capital is on Monday.
