F4 coverage: Teodosic looking forward to facing old club

It will be a weird feeling for CSKA Moscow’s Milos Teodosic when he goes up against his national team coach and former club in Sunday’s final.

The Serbian international won the 2010 Euroleague MVP with Olympiacos plus he won a silver medal with Dusan Ivkovic at the 2009 Eurobasket so Teodosic has a lot to be thankful for.

“I spent five great years with coach Ivkovic, with the national team,” he said. “We had a lot of success but some failures too. He taught me to play tough and to work hard.”

But now Teodosic has enjoyed a successful season with the Russian powerhouses, and he wants to add the Euroleague crown to his impressive resume.

“I am very happy that we are in the Euroleague finals,” Teodosic commented. “Friday was a very hard and tough game for us, but I already forgot about it and I’m trying to get ready for the final. We respect Olympiacos a lot; the way they play, it is going to be another hard game for us.

“Their strength is coach Dusan Ivkovic, and their best player and x-factor is [Vassilis] Spanoulis. Everything starts from him and  in the first two games we played against them this season, we tried to stop him but we can not forget about other players because they showed they know how to play good basketball as well,” Teodosic added.

CSKA Moscow have the chance to win their seventh Euroleague title after appearing in nine of the last ten Final Fours. Barcelona of last year was the only time they didn’t make Europe’s premier club basketball event.
