On Saturday, a mouthwatering JEEP Elite Pro A clash between the Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 and AS Monaco took place in front of a sold-out crowd on the outskirts of Paris.

Hosted in the Palais des sports Marcel-Cerdan, the home crowd watched on as the Metropolitans defeated high-flying Monaco, 80-71.

It was a low scoring affair at the half, with Monaco holding a slim 2-point lead, 32-30. The game did pick-up in the second half, however, with the Metropolitans outscoring their opponents, 50-39. This led to an impressive win over the then joint top team in the JEEP Elite.

Former NBA-champion, Norris Cole, totaled just 4 points for Monaco, shooting 1-8 from the field. Jaleel O’Brien led the team with 16 points, alongside 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.

The fourth top scorer in the JEEP Elite, Boulogne-Levallois’ Vitalis Chikoko, led the game with 20 points, on 7-8 shooting. Chikoko also had 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 blocks. While former NBA players, Rob Gray and Briante Weber, totaled 14 and 12 points, respectively.

This was Monaco’s first loss in 12 games domestically, as they sit second in the league (17-3). The huge victory for the Metropolitans marks their fifth win in a row. They currently occupy the fourth position in the JEEP Elite Pro A with a record of 15-5.
