The Washington Wizards were defeated by the Chicago Bulls and coach Scott Brooks attempted to shake the environment: “I think we are already experiencing a change of culture.” So, Brooks spoke to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post, stating that “winning or losing is part of the game, and it happens to all the teams. We are not happy with our 13 victories and we will not hide, winning is part of our culture and at the moment we are not doing it, it is so. We never thought we would have to access two pay exceptions for injuries, and I think some players have taken advantage of it and experienced it. And it’s a job that will pay off, I believe it. Brad (Beal, bdr) is also convinced of this. If he was frustrated? Of course you do, but then you talk to him the next day and he is already another person, he is a fundamental part of our culture. And nobody likes to lose.”

Change of mentality

Scott Brooks then calls the team back to change their mindset, to cultivate a winning mentality. The Wizards have faced many injuries, but Beal is not looking for extenuating circumstances. Washington’s goal is to change the mindset to win especially affordable games like the one against Chicago, which was ultimately lost.
