CSKA prevails in hard-fought battle against Real Madrid

The “big” late three-point play of Darun Hilliard made the difference in the game, helping CSKA remain undefeated against Real Madrid in Moscow (60-55). The last time the visitors won in Moscow was 12 years ago.

Real Madrid took a 12-point lead early in the second quarter (14-26 13’), but the Russians found ways to remain in the game through their defense.

Mike James gave his team the first lead in the game midway to the third quarter (34-33, 25’), while the Spaniards remained scoreless for about six and a half minutes.

The late three-point made by Darun Hilliard gave a 4-point lead to the home team (58-54) with 37 seconds remaining, while some great defensive plays wrap-up the win for the Russians.

James had game-high 19 points for CSKA, while Hilliard added 14. On the other side, Trey Tompkins scored a team-high 14 points, while Facundo Campazzo finished the contest with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
