Just six months after his retirement as a professional basketball player, Dimitris Papanikolaou will be taking over AEK’s bench as a Head Coach.
Dimitris Liogas was sacked on Monday and Papanikolaou was on the top of AEK’s President’s list of candidates to replace him.
Papanikolaou, a former member of Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and AEK as a player, was offered a place in the technical staff by Zeljko Obradovic back in 2007, but the Greek forward was not willing to quit his playing career just then.
