Andy Rautins signs with Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos has added guard Andy Rautins until the end of the season, the club announced on Jan. 10.

Rautins, 33, last played with Bahcesehir Istanbul in Turkey, where he averaged 14.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists on 44.5 percent from three-point.

Rautins was the 38th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and started his professional career with the New York Knicks.

The veteran guard has been playing mostly in Europe for the last several years.

He has played for CB Lucentum Alicante in Spain, Skyliners Frankfurt of the Basketball Bundesliga, Pallacanestro Varese of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A, Gaziantep of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL), Banvit of the BSL and Bahcesehir Basketbol of the BSL.

The former Syracuse Orange alum will be coached by Hall of Famer Rick Pitino and will also team up with fellow college teammate Wesley Johnson, as well as other college basketball standouts Jimmer Fredette and Nick Calathes.
