Phoenix Suns could be interested in trading for Danilo Gallinari before the February 6 deadline, per Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.

“Not many teams will have cap space next summer. The Suns probably would be able to re-sign Gallinari at a much better price,” a Western Conference executive said, according to Pincus.

“There’s uncertainty, especially if they give up a first-rounder, but the difference in price would make Gallinari the better target,” he added.

If the Suns add Gallinari to the roster, they will pay part of his $22.6 million expiring contract, with the team having no further obligation to keep him after the season.

The Italian forward has been averaging 18.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists this season, as the Oklahoma City Thunder are fighting for a playoff spot (18-15).

For its part, Phoenix is at 13-21, only one game behind the eighth-seeded San Antonio Spurs.
