“The fate of 3 million is in the hands of twelve” – that’s how the creators of a new documentary about Lithuanian national team chose to present their movie “Game of the Nation”.
Lithuania will aim to qualify for London Olympics next summer and if they succeed it will be the 6th straight Olympic appearance for the Baltic nation. The new documentary will focus on the team’s road to London Olympics and the importance of basketball to the country.
There are only two teams that managed to reach semi-final in all Olympic Games counting from 1992 and those countries are USA and Lithuania.
The producers promise to show unique behind the scenes videos from EuroBasket 2011 as well as interviews with the members of the national team.
The road to London Olympics won’t be easy as Lithuania will have to pass the Olympic Qualifying Tournament which will be held in Venesuela. The hosts of EuroBasket 2011 failed to earn a direct ticket to London after finishing 5th.
