We do our best to bring you basketball news and updates of all varieties from the best league in the world, the NBA.

Let’s look at a Wednesday night matchup when two tops teams from the East and West collide. And SBR picks selected a Total prediction for Tuesday night, which was successful as the clash between the Denver Nuggets and the Philadelphia 76ers covered the Under (206.5).

On Tuesday night (10/12), the Nuggets, a powerhouse defensive unit that has cashed the UNDER in 15 of its 21 games this season, per SBR’s basketball handicapper, Jason Lake, battled the 76ers, who were equally productive defensively and had gone 13-10-1 this season, cashing the UNDER.

Denver had the second best defence in the league, allowing 102 points per game, while Philadelphia limited opponents to just 98 points at home.

At the same time, the 76ers scored 111.92 per game at the Wells Fargo Center, and the Denver Nuggets had been dropping the rock for 106.10 on the road.

In addition, in five out of the last six games that Denver had played in, the UNDER had cashed and in five of their last seven road games, the UNDER had also cashed.

For the Sixers, the Totals had gone UNDER in seven of the last ten they had played, of those ten, four of the last five most recent.

Therefore, the UNDER 206.5 was more than a reasonable prediction, which proved successful. The final score was 97-92 in favour of Philadelphia, which remained undefeated at home (13-0).

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Toronto Raptors | Wednesday 7 PM ET

According to the latest statistical power rankings, the LA Clippers are the fourth strongest team in the league and the Toronto Raptors are the sixth.

So, we should have quite the battle on our hands-on Wednesday night, when Kawhi comes back up north and faces his former team.

The Clippers faced the Indiana Pacers in the third game of a massive, six-game road stretch on Monday.

Then they got Tuesday off and play the fourth of that grueling road trip on Wednesday against the Raptors.

Toronto also got Tuesday off after facing the Bulls in Chicago on Monday. So, both teams should be at least decently rested when they clash in Scotia Bank Arena.

The Raptors have only been really good at covering the point spread at home and after one day of rest.

As the home team, they are 8-3 ATS, for 72.7 percent. With one day of rest, they are 11-2 ATS for 84.6 percent.

On the flip side, the Clippers are just 30 percent against the spread while playing away from the Staples Center, and with just one day off they are 7-8 ATS, so 46.7 percent.

When we add the fact that the Raptors have a seven-point+ home defense advantage over the Clippers road D and a seven-point+ home offense advantage over the Clippers offense while out on the highway, we end up with a 14-point margin.

Though I doubt the books will line the Raptors out as more than six or seven-point favorites.

If the spread is less than double-digits, take the Raptors to cover against the Clippers on Wednesday in Toronto.
