In the 12th round of the EuroLeague, amazing Kostas Sloukas and Fenerbahce celebrated 107:102 (88:88) against ALBA Berlin after overtime.

This was the fifth victory for Željko Obradović’s squad, while the team from Germany has four wins and eight defeats.

The best player on the court was Sloukas from Fenerbahce, who had his first double-double this season.

The Greek player was on the court for 40:53 minutes and during that period he scored 23 points (5/6 for 2, 13/13 from the free-throw line) with 10 assists for an index rating of 39.

His teammate Nando De Colo scored 18, while Melih Mahmutoglu had one point less than De Colo. Joffrey Louvergne added 15 and Derrick Williams 14 points.

Rokas Giedraitis was the best scorer for ALBA with 19 points, while the best player was Luke Sikma. The American forward finished the match with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Fenerbahce had an excellent game opener in front of its own crowd and in the first quarter they managed to control the movement of the ball against the team from Berlin. After the first 10 minutes of the match, the home team was leading by 14 (30-16).

But, in the second quarter, the guests adapted to the rhythm and slowly built their own game. ALBA got back in the match completely and was behind by only 1 point (41-40) after the first half.

In the second 20 minutes, both teams were playing for every ball. And 5.4 seconds till the end of the game, Williams missed an open three-point shot that would lead them to another win. But it didn’t, so Fenerbahce had to play overtime in front of the 8200 spectators.

In the overtime, the team from Berlin responded to every shot Fenerbahce made until Mahmutoglu scored three points for the 99:96.

But, Aito Garcia Reneses’ team didn’t back down and Giedraitis scored his fifth three-pointer, 15 seconds till the end of overtime.

But, the foul on Kostas Sloukas was a bad choice, because Fenerbahce’s guard was perfect from the free-throw line, putting an end to the match.
