After an 11-4 start to the season, the Boston Celtics could be one piece away from being a true title contender.
The Celtics lost Al Horford in free agency last offseason, leaving the team to sign cheaper scoring-oriented big man Enes Kanter.
The Celtics hoped that a combination of Kanter, Daniel Theis and Robert Williams could fill the void left by Horford.
While none of these three big men have played major minutes on a consistent basis this season, the combination has still been solid so far.
Kanter is averaging 15.1 minutes per game (two starts), Theis is averaging 22.7 minutes per game (12 starts) and Williams is averaging 14.2 minutes per game (one start).
It has been suggested that while bringing in a new big man via trade like Clint Capela or Karl-Anthony Towns could be enticing, it could also disrupt team chemistry, which the Celtics have demonstrated early in the season.
If the Celtics wanted some extra help in the middle, they could instead use 7-foot-5 rookie Tacko Fall, who is on a two-way contract and impressing in the G League, averaging 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
Fall could be an option to help sure-up the interior defense in spot minutes.
It has also been suggested that the Celtics could monitor the buyout market in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and target someone like Kenneth Faried.
The CBA season ends in time, so their best players have the opportunity to potentially sign with an NBA team looking for more depth right before the playoffs.
Faried is playing for the Zhejiang Lions, averaging 18.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game so far this season.
If the Celtics feel the need to look for more depth at the center position, Faried is a name that could possibly come up, as he has plenty of NBA experience.
