The Charlotte Hornets are interested in adding Andre Drummond to their roster, per Sean Deveney of Heavy.
Drummond plans to become a free agent next summer and he seems to be the number one target of the Hornets.
Charlotte projects to have about $27 million in cap space next summer. That might be enough to lure Drummond with a multi-year deal.
But, Drummond’s player option for next season, which he plans to decline, is worth $28,751,774. Therefore, the Hornets may try to exceed cap space to sign him.
Given the Detroit Pistons’ disappointing 4-10 start, it will not come as a surprise if Charlotte presses for a Drummond deal in the coming months.
The big man of Detroit has been averaging 18.6 points, 16.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks this season, with all of them being career highs.
