Crvena Zvezda announced on Saturday (23/11) that Dragan Sakota has been appointed as the new head coach of the club.

The 67-year-old coach replaces Andrija Gavrilovic, who served on an interim basis since Round 4 when Zvezda parted ways with Milan Tomic.

Sakota last coached AEK Athens, which he guided to the FIBA Basketball Champions League and Greek Cup titles in 2018.

He now returns to his hometown club after more than a decade, having been the head coach of Crvena Zvezda for two seasons, from 2005 to 2007.
