Riders sign Ayron Hardy

The Leicester Riders have signed up former Jacksonville University small forward, Ayron Hardy, for the 2011-12 season.

Hardy is the fifth player to sign a deal with the Leicester club, following the re-signing of Lamble, Sherlock and Holmes and the new addition of point guard Cameron Rundles.

Hardy takes an impressive CV to the Riders having won numerous accolades at JU, including the Mid-major Defensive Player of the Year, Mid-major All-Defensive Team and Conference Defensive Player of the year all for 2010.

Riders coach Rob Paternostro is pleased with the signing and likes what Hardy can bring to the table: “He’s got a really versatile game which allows him to compete at both ends of the floor and if you look at his accomplishments for 2010, he’s a great defender. We’re really pleased to have him.”

It’s been a strong start to the off-season for the Leicester Riders as they piece together their team in time for pre-season. And with a couple of months still to go before the BBL restarts, don’t be surprised if the Leicester Riders remain active in their quest to improve their roster.
