According to a Serbian news agency, Milovan Rakovic will be a Zalgiris player next season.
According to the article although Rakovic was wanted by Olympiacos, it was Zalgiris who moved fast, and in absolute secrecy, in order to secure the international center.
Zalgiris has been in the market for a center for a while now and Rakovic’ name never leaked out. But according to a representative of “Fastbrejk” (the player’s agency) the offer by the Lithuanian champions was too good to refuse and their client signed a one-year deal.
Apparently Montepaschi didn’t object to the player’s move (probably because of the redundant number of foreigners they have in their squad) but asked the player to return back to the team next summer, after his deal with Zalgiris runs out.
