Sherlock shakes hands on new Leicester Riders deal

The Leicester Riders can announce today that they have secured the signature of forward, Tom Sherlock, for the 2011/12 season.

The former Newcastle Eagle will be re-joining the team he spent the 2010/11 campaign with, although with the departure of guards Ryan Zamroz and JR Blount and the retirement of veteran Tony Windless, the squad will have a very different look.

Sherlock is delighted to have signed a new contract so soon into the off-season as it now means he can prepare for the season ahead:

“Last season I wanted to get back into playing at the BBL level and joining Leicester was the right opportunity. But in joining them, I hadn’t had sufficient preparation time, mentally or physically, to get right for the season ahead. So with signing this contract so soon after the season, I’m able to plan my off-season and fully prepare for 2011/12.”

Sherlock joins both Lamble and Rundle on the Riders 2011 roster but with more spots to fill, watch for coach Rob Paternostro to make some more additions.
