Alex Abrines said Kevin Durant would be more than welcome to join Barcelona for the final season of his career, if he wanted to.
“If he comes, we will welcome him with open arms because he is a great player.
He left Oklahoma [City Thunder in 2017], leaving a little space salary cap-wise so that I [could join], and if he wants to come [to Barcelona] I promise to lower my contract so that he can come,” Abrines said per Marca.
In an appearance on the “How Hungry Are You?” with Serge Ibaka, Durant said he would be interested in playing for Barcelona in the final season of his career.
For its part, the Catalans responded to the two-time NBA champion, stating they have his jersey ready, if he decides to join the team.
