FIBA confirmed to Australian media that Andrew Bogut was given a penalty for his outburst after Australia’s semi-final loss against Spain, per Yahoo Sports Australia.

Bogut was furious after the game, calling FIBA a “fu**ing disgrace”. The 34-year-old center was convinced that Australia lost the game due to FIBA corruption which favoured Spain.

“FIBA can confirm that Mr Bogut has been sanctioned with an official warning and a CHF8,000 (approximately $A11,800) fine, in accordance with the FIBA internal regulations, for his actions during and immediately after Australia’s FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 semi-final game against Spain,” a FIBA spokesperson wrote in a statement provided to AAP.

As usual, Bogut reacted to the fine on twitter by asking if anyone knows the currency conversion rate from Australian Dollars to Swiss Francs.
