BBL Team Of The Week – Week 28

The penultimate week of the regular season sees four players in the starting line-up be drawn from just two clubs while there are no spots for any of the top five players on our leader board chasing down Trey Moore who still has more appearances than anybody else this season.

Jeremy Bell (Cheshire Jets)

The Jets playmaker is the most experienced player of our five when it comes to making the BBL Team Of The Week and he also claims the prize of scoring the most points after pouring in 39 against Essex Pirates. It was however only the second best performance of the week, despite also adding 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals to his line.

Demarius Bolds (Prestige Homes MK Lions)

One of the most significant factors in the recent upturn of fortunes for the Lion has been the form of Bolds and the guard highlighted that fact with the best BBL Championship display of the week. He finished with a performance valuation of 34 after registering a sparkling double-double of 30 points including three of four from the perimeter and 10 assists in the victory against Guildford Heat. Bolds showed he also isn’t afraid to do the dirty work on the glass after also contributing 7 rebounds too.

Gareth Murray (Cheshire Jets)

The Scottish forward continues to showcase his perimeter skills as he finished with 28 points against Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders after shooting 75% from downtown having converted six of eight triple attempts. Murray also chipped in with four rebounds and four steals to book a place in our team for the second time this season.

Paul Williams (One Health Sharks Sheffield)

The One Health Sharks Sheffield centre produced one of his best displays of the season against Worthing Thunder after showing his power in the paint at both ends of the floor. He racked up a near double-double of 22 points and 9 rebounds while defensively he swatted away an impressive 7 shots to help his team to a thumping win against the strugglers.

Travis Nelson (Prestige Homes MK Lions)

Nelson has been a tower of strength for Lions this season and the one constant in an up and down year for Mike New and his team. Just like his team-mate Demarius Bolds, the centre also claimed 30 points in the win against Guildford and was virtually unstoppable inside. He posted one of the most efficient lines of the entire season when he made 13 of 14 field goals in the game to show he really can finish. He also pulled down 8 big rebounds.
