The recent incidents between the NBA and China will cost the Houston Rockets $25M, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.

Per the experienced journalist, the Rockets are expected to lose $25M in the 2019/20 season, due to an extensive sponsor and media boycott.

Houston was one of the most popular NBA teams in China, thanks to Yao Ming and his successful tenure with the Rockets.

However, a tweet by Houston’s GM, Daryl Morey, who supported the protesters of Hong Kong, completely changed the relationship between the Rockets and China, creating a controversy between the two sides.
