Kevin Durant on his return this year: “No, nothing, no accelerated process”

In an appearance on HOT 97’s Ebro in the Morning, a radio show based in New York City, the now-Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant, who ruptured his Achilles in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors, shuts down any speculation around his return to the court this season:

“It takes a lot of time. Everyday process, man. It’s tough to dive into it every day. Two, three hours of just rehab just trying to get back strong. But no, nothing, no accelerated process. I’m just working like everybody else who ever tore their Achilles,” Durant said.

This past season, the 31-year-old averaged 26.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
