Markel Brown who played at Oklahoma State University, will be making his return to the state of Oklahoma, as he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The signing was announced by Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

The terms of the contract were not released per team policy.

Brown’s Oklahoma ties not only go back to his college days, but to when he had a 22-game stint in 2017 with the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate.

Brown, 27, played in 109 games over the course of two seasons for the Brooklyn Nets from 2014 to 2016.

He then played only four games with the Houston Rockets in the 2017-2018 season.

Brown also spent one season in Russia with BC Khimki and last season in Turkey with Darussafaka.
