The FIBA Basketball World Cup came to an end with Spain being undeniably the best team among the 32 participants beating Argentina iin a triumphal way.

Sergio Scariolo’s team was unstoppable against the tired squad of Argentinian national team. Furthermore, Ricky Rubio was proclaimed the MVP of the Final and generally of the tournament.

The Spaniard had something to prove this summer and the World Cup hopefully will be the prequel of an incredible season in the NBA.

Patty Mills had an incredible tournament being the “go to guy” for the Australian national team. Mills was shooting on 49% in FG% and a 40% from the three point line, while scoring 22 points per game.

His best game was the semi-final against Spain, where he finished the competition with 34 points in a clash that the “Boomers” came close to an upset win.

2.Thomas Satoransky

We talked about the domination of the guards in the Basketball World Cup and Thomas Satoransky was a great paradigm of this.

De Colo was an act of class in this FIBA World Cup, while the French maestro having one of the best FG% of the tournament( 54.5 while attempting 9.6 shots per game).

Furthermore, he finished the competition with 16.5 points per game, while shooting about 42% from the three point line.

The Fenerbahçe ’s player had his best production in the loss against Australia in the second round of the tournament scoring 26 points on a 25 efficiency rating.

Also, he was crucial in several important games like the third-place final, in which help his team return from -15 in order to contend for the win.

4.Bogdan Bogdanovic

Serbia was one of the favorites in the tournament, but in the end Djordjevics’ team was limited to the 5th place of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The incredible performances of Bogdan Bogdanovic weren’t enough. First of all, he scored the most points in the tournament having a total of 183 points.

First of all, he averaged 22.9 points in the competition (the second best delivery in the World Cup) and had some great showings throughout the tournament.

5.Luis Scola

Scola would be the unanimous MVP of the FIBA World Cup, if Argentina could beat Spain in the Final game of the tournament.

The Argentinian legend had a great tournament, in which he averaged about 18 points and 8 rebound per game, while he completed some historic milestones.

First of all , he tied Bira Maciel for the most appearances in the tournament(41) and, after the end of the World Cup in China, he is second place of the all-time scorer’s list with 716 points having, also, participate in 5 tournaments(2002, 2006, 2010, 2014,2019).

First and foremost, Scola was the leader of a very talented group that played over its limits in two consecutive games against Serbia and France.

The win against France was the “magnum opus” of Scola’s performances in this Basketball World Cup.

The Argentinian “big-man” finished the semi final with 28 points, 13 rebounds and 28.0 efficiency rating.
