Frank Vogel on Dwight Howard: “He’s willing to accept any role that I lay out in front of him”

In Q&A interview with NBA.com, the Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel talked on center Dwight Howard and his readiness to accept a role player’s role:

“It’s definitely acceptable. He’s excited about it. And he has the ability to be one of the best at it in the league. He’s going to be concentrating on that. I’ll be defining what we’ll expecting of him, in terms of defending and rebounding and screen-setting and lob-catching and all those things. He’s willing to accept any role that I lay out in front of him. We’ve had a great start to our relationship. He’s in a great place mentally,” Vogel said.

The 33-year-old missed most part of the 2018-19 season owing to injuries, averaging 12.8 points along with 9.2 rebounds per game. As a Laker, he averaged 17.1 points, 12.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per contest.
