Spain and France qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games

Spain and France became the final two teams that officially advanced to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The eight teams that have secured their spot in next year’s tournament are as follows: Japan (host country), Nigeria, Iran, Australia, Argentina, Team USA, France and Spain.

The four remaining spots will be decided in next year’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament. 24 teams will take part in the tournament, which will be split in four groups of six teams each.

The teams that have secured their place in the Qualifying Tournament are Serbia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Greece, Italy, Russia, Brazil, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic as well as Germany, New Zealand, Tunisia, Canada and Turkey.

Two national teams from each region will also be added for a total of 24 teams.
