Andrey Vorontsevich and Russia for the win against Venezuela

Andrey Vorontsevich and Russia won 69-60 against Venezuela in the first match of Group I in the FIBA World Cup 2019.

Nether Russia nor Venezuela had any chance to play in the next round (Quarterfinals), but both teams entered the game with only one goal – to win.

The European team celebrated in the end and the best performer was Andrey Vorontsevich, with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the index rating of 28.

Only two more players scored more than 10 points for Russia, and both scored 12 – Nikita Kurbanov and Grigory Motovilov.

Michael Carrera from Venezuela finished the game with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the index rating of 25. His teammate, Jhornan Zamora, added 13 points.

Russia and Venezuela will see their standings from 9th to 16th place, while Argentina and Poland are the teams that will advance to Quarterfinals from the Group I. After today’s match between them, we will find out who is the first in Group I.
