Patty Mills and Australia won against Dominican Republic

Patty Mills and Australia won 82-76 against the Dominican Republic in the first game of Group L in the World Cup 2019.

San Antonio Spurs player (Patty Mills) finished the game with 19 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds (index rating of 23), while his teammate Chris Goulding added 15 points. Former Partizan (Serbian basketball club) center Jock Landale scored 13 points and Aron Baynes ended the match with 10.

Eloy Vargas was the best with 16 points and 7 rebounds (index rating of 19) for Dominican Republic. Victor Liz scored 14 points, Rigoberto Mendoza 12 and Eulis Baez 10.

With this loss, Dominican Republic stayed without chance of playing in the quarter finals, while Australia is one step closer to the playoffs.

In the next round of Group L, Australia will face France, while the Dominican Republic will play against Lithuania.
