2019 Basketball World Cup: Day 7 Roundup – Four teams advanced to the Quarter-finals

Spain, Serbia, Argentina and Poland became the first four teams that officially reached the Quarter-finals of the Basketball World Cup.

Group I

In the first match of the day, Poland turned things around and defeated Russia (79-74), clinching their spot in the quarter-finals.

For their part, Argentina dominated Venezuela (87-67) and also qualified for the quarter-finals.

Both teams remained undefeated (4-0) and their clash on Sunday (08/09) will determine who will finish on top of the group.

Russia and Venezuela have been eliminated.

Group J

Serbia made another outstanding performance and crushed Puerto Rico (90-47) to advance to the next round of the tournament.

Similarly, Spain stood tall against Italy and claimed a big victory, thanks to a 15-4 run in the final minutes of the game.

Both the Serbians and the Spaniards continued their unbeaten run (4-0) and whoever wins their battle on Sunday (08/09) will finish first in the group.

Italy and Puerto Rico have been eliminated.

In the classification games (17-32), Nigeria (83-66 vs Cote d’Ivoire), Iran (62-71 vs Angola), China (77-73 vs Korea) and Tunisia (86-67 vs the Philippines) earned big victories over their opponents.
