Greece National started off their friendly games in a tremendous fashion destroying all their four opponents they had to face in Limassol and Nicosia for the “Love Cyprus Basketball” tournament. Cyprus, Germany, Russia and Croatia gave in to the Greeks rather easily.
Greece NT started off its games facing the Cyprus NT, who was not a member of the “Love Cyprus Basketball” tournament anyway, and destroyed them 76-41.
The next day the tournament officially started in Nicosia and Greece beat Germany 82-54 while in the other game of the day Russia beat Croatia 66-64 in a thriller game.
For the second day the tournament moved to Limassol where Greece made their most impressive win over Russia 101-63 while Croatia clinched a win over Germany 67-66.
For the third and final day the tournament moved back to Nicosia and Greece beat Croatia this time, 90-81 while Germany got their first win, over Russia, 76-73.
Greece will now be heading back to Athens where they are facing more challenging opponent, prominently the Team USA while they will also be hosting Serbia, Slovenia and Canada in the annual “Acropolis Cup”.
